Not your typical construction worker types, this was business class “catcalling.” For those unfamiliar with the slang term, it’s meant to define unwanted attention from men on the street; whistles and “catcalls” are generally harmless and bold attempts at flirting with women in passing.
In all honesty though, this is not what was taking place here, I simply snapped this shot just as the gentleman looking towards my camera was exaggerating his speech…he was actually more interested in what I was doing rather than paying attention to the woman walking by.
I happened to turn on this street and saw a group of people outside on a smoke break. My intent was to try and capture this daily life scene for that express purpose, and as I was trying to position myself for a closer view, this woman and her bright, rose colored shirt exited the building and came walking my direction….and this is what came of it. Even with the most obvious elements here, my favorite thing about this picture is the one section of leg and hand appearing from behind the buildings entry…kind of like Mr. Cool was to good to be seen smoking on the streets. :)
Thanks for taking a look.

That's exactly how this looks, Jason, "Catcalling" - and how many times in saw this scene in NYC and elsewhere... Though, there is a real chance that it was menerly the precise moment on camera as you interpreted.
Nice taken the daily-life scene.

Great shot Jason!
we´re just men:)
Alone your title intrigues and make the scene really unique. But of course you composed and above all timed the scene perfectly.
Haha,it´s also great study of our perception of surrounded reality:)
Really magnificent composition my friend!
Funny and original street photography!
Wish You a nice sunday

She has got a big presence in the image and one of her feet slightly danglinb in the air adds to the moody affairs in this image. This is paying respect to the subjects, and proves your worth as a photographer and merely as a DSLR owner.
See, the whole attention is immediately carried away from her to the wide mouthed gentleman. Isn't it a beauty of street photography where each and every individual adds by his or her way of expressions.
Original and clicked at the decisive moment.
Years back I as smitten by street photography in B & W, so I have tried a workshop here too.
What do you think of it, do let me know.

This has mde me laugh first thing of a Sunday morning, thank you. The title is brilliant, as I had always wondered how to spell that sound, which I have heard so many times in family guy. In fact, YouTube search Italian Americans and they have a video compendium of the best ones.
For posterity....Hey Copernicus, why don't you navigate your to the back of the line with your feet and wait there with your shirt.... :)
Great cath of this moment though, as it does look like catcalling. Not only for the guy doing it but also as the lady in pink seems to wrangling her hands a little nervously. I would also jot have seen mr cool in the corner either if you hadn't mentioned him. Bet he is wearing shades too. Great street scene Jason, and brilliant onto see this scene as your title.
Have a great Sunday

But a wonderful picture with high quality made.
Splendid composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

This is a brilliant picture, quite different from your usual, and a lovely "candid" street shot with so much to see in it and it's also open to so many different interpretations!
I thought that Britain (and especially Scotland) was one of the few last bastions of smokers and I thought that Americans had largely ditched the habit - but obviously I am wrong!
The young lady in the bright crimson top is obviously the "star of the show" as she stares right down the barrel of your lens and marches resolutely towards you. The little group of young businessmen are obviously discussing something, probably about the day's work, while the fellow looking at the girl certainly appears to be taking some interest in her appearance. That fellow also has that rather "slobbish" look to me - the sort of businessman who is a bit over confident, wearing a smart suit but with his tie undone and his collar open - you know the sort I mean - a bit like a used car dealer!
And, of course, that trousered leg appearing from the doorway - is that fellow sitting on a rubbish bin or something?
Gee, what a picture! Very well taken indeed with no distracting features at all - just the girl and that weird group of guys. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness. Very well taken indeed considering that you must have taken this one "on the spur of the moment"!

You snapped at just the right time. The man who is mouthing something, the woman in the bright rose-colored shirt, the cigarettes in hand, all combine to create an interesting street scene. That guy hiding out in the entrance is a cool detail, too.

haha...yes, the man with the 1 leg and hand looks very creepy, makes me wonder what the heck is he doing there! lol
at first glance i thought this was taken in NYC or something, it just has that look to it i suppose.
having the lady in pink really makes the shot though, she's a fine focal point as our eyes are totally drawn to her because of the color. In the monochrome version i looked at, I honestly think she gets 'lost' in the shuffle...in this instance the color version is much better - thats just my opinion :)
Ahem....Titans 16 Steelers 9
gotta say, i didn't expect that! But i'll take it!
sorry bud :)

I think you could marked this photo by Humorous category too. As always I glad to read your reflections about another daily life street scene. Just a movie scene...
Have a nice Monday!

Ayy, Ohhh, you made me laugh watching and reading about your capture
Do you noticed that all the friends of the open mouth guy are looking at..him, must be a funny one
You were very lucky indeed having the woman just at the right moment, did you said something, kind of apology to her?
Well done, also appreciated the hiding man or what is seen from him
Greetings and congrats

thank you for your note explaining the situation. Without it, we can have a wrong interpretation. Nice daily street life picture, well composed and taken at the peak moment. Her presence and the pink dress are so attractive ....................to men!
