Photographer's Note

Ok its really Times Square..
In the middle of the day and packed wall to wall with dazzled and bemused tourists. people dressed up as characters from films the naked cowboy, the list goes on and on and on.

The first from a series of images shot around NYC using long exposure techniques to alter reality slightly.

Reality here is unrelenting droves of people and so much noise its unreal.

Shift the reality slightly and the people start to phase out with only the ones standing for any period of time remaining.
There would have been literally hundreds of people thronged past me as i stood there wedged against a lamp post ( i found these good for blocking people and stopping them crashing into my tripod)
This is the corner across from Buba gumps restaurant
Location included but its on the corner of 7th and 44th right in the heart of the broadway district.
taken at 2 in the afternoon (timeshift back 5 hours) On a Sunday but no less busy than a Saturday to be honest. it was the only day i got a chance to do this something i had set out to do on this visit.

Tech spec
Tripod used
10 stop
43 second exposure (i wanted to allow some people still to be visible)
remote
f16
iso 100
17mm

I may or may not post the rest on here but will be posting them on my usual suspects mainly as a project for me rather than commercial.

Hope you enjoy but if you have any questions just give me a shout
