Photographer's Note
A must visit if you are in NYC
am no sure if this is straight or no i gave up straightening it :-( one bit would be perfect then the other wouldnt be...
I took this on my last trip to NYC and shot it the trip before that as well. I might even shoot it again when i go back in a few weeks..
What you really need to do is get to the top of the rock and take in the magnificent Manhattan vistas which includes the empire state building. I was originally pointed to this observation deck by Brenda (world citizen) and its deffo not to be missed on any manhattan visit. There is little to be gained from an image of the greatest skyline without its greatest icon. Well thats what you get if you go up the ESB and shoot manhattan.
Shot in lower light in the blue hour @iso 800 handheld but only 1/15th of a second so just under the threshold for a bit of shake on a 17mm lens

Hello John!
A classical view of that famous NYC spot!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, vertical format, chosen pov and composition truly pleased me!
TFS - congrats,

Hello John,
So, are you coming back to NYC sometime soon?? This is one of my favorite spots, and I like this blue hour view. I can even see some remnants of snow in this shot. So far we haven't had any this winter. I also like the golden Art Deco design over the entrance to 30 Rock that we get a glimpse of in the distance. BTW, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, so please allow me to point out that it's "Rockefeller Plaza". If you changed it intentionally, then please disregard the correction. ;-)

A really nice POV and wide angle that accentuates the towering height of Rockefeller Plaza, John. Certainly looks straight to me, though of course with a shot like this, they never really come out fully straight, do they? Either way, a nice blue hour rendition of an art deco masterpiece and one of New York's many recognizable landmarks. Hopefully we'll see more from you from NY!

Hi John and happy new year,
A great POV ! You used very well the perspective lines to add depth to the composition. The exposure is perfect, colours are very nice. Excellent sharpness too. A great shot !
