Make Your Choice, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

New York city is a very big city and full of people. And as all big cities fast transport is needed.

Here in the photo we can see the man in the bike, cars, taxis. In the background close to the Madison Square Guarden there are the Penn Station a huge place where you can take trains or subways. Besides that the NY has many other types of transport.

Why the title? With so many option you have to choose one, I prefer subway and my feet! :)

The photo was taken at the corner of 8th Ave with W 34th street

Howdy Andre,

A wonderful mixture of busy autos, zipping by biker, and blatant advertising by Foxwoods Casino Resort.

A few Bikers in NY City are couriers and risk their lives zipping around busy streets. Los Angeles recently created new laws and incentives to encourage bicyclists to pedal downtown. I tried in my youth to bike from Burbank to downtown LA but gave up after too many dangerous encounters with inconsiderate motorists.

Hello Andre,
I absolutely admire the people who ride bicycles around New York and I like very much your composition. The cyclist is perfectly placed in the frame and the background is very interesting. Depth and perspective are great, the architecture and banner give a graphical impression while the cars look like little isolated fortresses. They look impersonal too as all drivers are faceless. The cyclist makes a great contrast in these surroundings, exposed, elegant and fragile. Well done and thank you!
