44th Street, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

This was oe of my first photos with my new Canon camera. I was in the Milford Plaza hotel located in 8th Ave and I took the photo from my room window at 26th floor. This day was a rainny day. But the rain not mess up our trip.

Here we can see the W 44th street coner with 7th Ave. In this street is located the nice restaurante Carmine`s where you can eat a delicious pasta with meat ball. A nice restaurante to visit.

Hello Andre,

Typical New York picture. I like your POV. The light on wet pavement is perfect to create a nice atmosphere. The presence of yellow cabs assure us of the location where this picture was taken.

Hello Andre,
This is a very typical NYC view. I like the added effect of the rain; it makes the street shiny. It's fun to look at the different people. I can see that one man is doing something very common, but also dangerous: he is running across the street while the cars are moving! You probably noticed that people here in NYC are very impatient when trying to cross the street. :-)

Andei sumida destas bandas, mas estou de volta.

Excelente foto de estreia com a sua nova camera. O POV esta perfeito para capturar o caos da cidade neste dia chuvoso. A linha de taxis amarelos adiciona um otimo contraste ao piso molhado. Ofoco no primeiro plano tambem funciona bem, e os passantes com as sombrinhas coloridas e o complemento perfeito. A quem diga que chuva atrapalha viajem, mas as vezes cria otimas oportunidades para fotografar. Voce soube aproveitar bem a sua!

I love your plongée over NY streets, the atmosphere is so genuine, with the yellow caps and the NY unique life...the wet pavement gives another lookg to the image and these reflections help to see your work even nicer.

Très belle vue plongeante de la ville en pleine activité. Les parapluies sont de sortie. La brillance des voies liée à la dernière pluie est du meilleur effet.

there are times when i really miss the hustle and bustle of the downtown Manhattan core.
that activity is well displayed in your scene, and i also like the wet street look.

nice panoramic view of the W 44th street coner with the lot of cars with the yellow taxi to dominate it.
I like the well chosen vertical format,with the rainy day to be seen from the umbrellas the natives have over them.

Hello Andre,
This captures the essence of NY with the busy streets and yellow taxis. The glistening wet road makes a super BG for the small groups of people with their umbrellas. There is a lot of interesting detail - excellent.

the rain didn't deter you from taking photos. Instead you've fully used it at your advantage to capture this shiny reflections on the asphalt. Your POV reinforces the cinematographic aspect of your composition with its ant-like characters.

Hello Andre,

I have walked on this street many times but never took photos here. Nice high angle view of the street on a wet day. Neither the pedestrians nor the vehicle drivers have any patience in this city. That is the beauty of NYC. The yellow cabs literally have taken over the streets and I see them here. A typical Manhattan street on a rainy day well captured.
