Photographer’s Note
Forty-Second Street in Manhattan is one of the most well-known streets in the city. It runs crosstown, from the Hudson to East Rivers, and is famous for its theaters near Times Square.
There are many other famous landmarks on, or adjacent to, Forty-Second Street as well: the United Nations, the Chrysler Building, the main branch of the NY Public Library, Bryant Park, and the Port Authority bus terminal.
It was a rainy day, and as I stood next to a large, mirrored column all of the colored umbrellas fascinated me. I stood there for a while taking photos, and here is one of the results. :-)

dear Brenda Elain,
a joyful and colorful scene in the rain,
it reminds me of the movie "Singin' in the Rain".
colorful colors are nice,
and two reflections, light on the wet road and warped figures on the glass, make wonder and unusual space in the N.Y.
thank you for your excellent picture,
Akihisa

Brenda, it has been a while since I was doing critiques and I see I have missed a few really good ones from you. This is an awesome shot, it is kind of dark and edgy and the detail from the texture of the side walk to the layers of lamp posts and signs behind the street sign are all fantastic. This is a great shot.
