Five pedestrians were hurt when several huge chunks of a stone facade fell off the Brooklyn Bridge in a freak accident yesterday night
The unlucky five pedestrians struck by the decorative stones had been walking along the underpass, they were taken to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of minor injuries, but the structure of the bridge was not affected, the FDNY said
While reading the news I remember how I enjoy crossing it, also remember a day when at the beginning of the Bridge ( Manhattan Side) I met some people working in it,, noticing my shots one of them said ”Time to rest and eat”
I imagine them working hard to fix the falling stones, may be one of them, who knows?
One of my favorites along with the Pont des Arts at Paris, both full of life with people enjoying crossing them on foot or bikes
Both with plenty of space to walk and also offering benches to rest, seat while enjoying the ambiance and beautiful views

This is indeed a very beautiful picture of that bridge.
From your chosen POV the passage between the structure and the cables seems fairly narrow.
Good inclusion of the lamppost on the foreground.
Best regards, Paul

Like veils of steel and what a classic beauty there. Wonderful perspective and detail, an absorbing image putting the viewer right in the mesh of all the supporting cable lines and patterns leaves me in awe! The position of the stunning figures is spot on and their presence renders the image more human. Immense capture and the content is spot on, I think makers of postcards eat your heart out!! My congrats
P/S We've heard the news here too and tx for updating us.

Beautiful composition with lovely graphical effect. The bright colours of the foreground objects and the presence of the people make it lively and attractive. The view of the buildings seen through the cables and the double arched structure are great too. The pedestrians were definitely fortunate.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice evening.

This must have made the news everywhere but here!? Serghei also posted a picture with a note pertaining to the bridge and this incident today. Glad no one was seriously injured.
A classic view on the Brooklyn Bridge, I've taken a few myself. :) It really is a great walk, isn't it/ Splendid city views in every direction, and the rush of cars and boats below...it's quite an assault on the sense seeing it for the first time.
Having these city workers in their brightly colored attire and safety cones definitely adds a burst of color and originality to this setting. What I really like though are the other people taking pictures...no shortage of that on the bridge, right? :) A lovely web to be caught up in, an iconic part of The Big Apple, no doubt!
Have a wonderful Friday, it's a 3-day holiday weekend for us. Yay! :) Be good mi amiga.
Cheers from the U.S. of A.,

I have seen already Serghei's photo about this strange event. Brooklyn Bridge was also my favorite in NYC, and of course I had to walk on it. Nice shot. Everyone wants to have a photo with this famous icon.

This is a very effective photo of the Brooklyn Bridge. The colors in the foreground add some interest.

This is an iconic bridge and a must for visitors to N.Y. The workmen have given it a whole new twist. Their high viz jackets and bollards add an unexpected vitality of colour.
It is a very well composed shot, the colours and action well placed in the f/g, whilst the bridge and the sky scrapers are visible for context.
Have a good day,

I see you also have posted this breaking news about the bridge. But they said it was not so tragic accident.
Good contribution to thie theme.

Excellent view across the pedestrian bridge, excellent perspective. You have excellently included the workers in the scene. I'm surprised about excellent deep DOF at F/4.5 (well compensated by 1/500).
Very well done.

me gusta las lineas del puente y los personajes, una versión en blanco y negro quedaria buena tambien.
hoy tenemos mas una etapa dificil contra Colombia, mas dificil que el juego pasado.

An intriguing location in NYC, though I have no picture from this place, maria.
Fine clear details, and those workers added a shiney yellow glow by their vests.
Fine view with the cords and nets and through.
Buen fin de semana, and hope for a good game and the best team win.

Two photos of Brooklyn Bridge the same day seems unusual. This is a fine and eye-catching composition with superb depth provided by the structural details of the bridge. The colorful foreground is perfectly chosen and the photo is perfectly exposed.

Bridges have wonderful geometric designs and that is one of the reasons I love their pictures. This too is beautiful with a great POV. But the accident was unfortunate, hope care is taken that it is not repeated.
Have a great weekend.

Hola Maria querida,
the men at work must have felt like pop stars, there were other photographers around too:) I like very much this composition, I had never seen a point of view like this before. I like how you filled the frame, how well you handled the perspective for depth and balance and the meaningful, graphic background at the opposite side. It's very nice to have the human interest and the colours in the foreground, a scene that's spontaneous and quite attractive. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Excellent use of diminishing linear perspective with the US flag well positioned on the vanishing point. The workmen animate the scene. Good sharpness and I like the warm cold colour contrasts between the orange witch hats and the blue grey sky. Tfs!

I LOVE NY!!
