Bonjour Erling
Tu as réussi à capter l'essence de Grand Central, sa fébrilité et son mouvement perpétuel, la beauté de son architecture par une très belle technique.

Hello Erling,
I think Grand Central and New Yorkers couldn´t imagine more beauitful image to commemorate this round anniversary. The shot is really gorgeous. The composition and framing, the gost effect, which bring in a lot of dynamism to the scene and perfectly selected exposure to display all details in best quality. All these things make your composition so great and unique. For me this is definitely the best presentation of Grand Central I´ve seen so far.Excellent work. You´ve been hiding this masterpiece for a really long time.Glad to see it on TE!
Wish You a pleasant weekend

I didn't know this anniversary was coming, Erling, so thanks for pointing it out - but thanks even more for this really outstanding image. The mix of movement and stillness in the bright light from the rear window is just incredible, and perfectly evocative of the place itself. The whole shot seems to emanate out from the window - the strong lines of the ceiling, the crowd, the ticket booths, the blurs of movement. Beautiful, warm colors and such incredible detail in the crowd - there are several people in there that would clearly make exceptional close-up portraits here, and the fact that I can see that level of detail on people in a wide angle 2 second exposure is exceptional. Really fine work.

Impressive hall and very good shot Erling! I like the sense of movement, all stations in the world are rivers of people. The depth of field is spectacular!
Have a good WE!

Hello Erling,
The slow shutter speed has certainly added a bustling atmosphere to this picture of Grand Central. A great idea that has worked very well.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hi Erling
a fine dedication photo.
It bugs me still to today that I didn't have enough time to visit Grand Central Terminal when i was in NYC...it will have to be another time in the future i suppose.
what makes the photo work so well is seeing all the people standing still while other move about.
very jealous of this well executed photo :)
cheers

Hello Erling,
I love this place!! I was actually there yesterday when they had a day full of ceremonies and activities for the 100th anniversary. It was VERY crowded! Your photo is beautiful. It is the classic view, perfectly executed. You accidentally captured a great pattern, with the people in the center of the frame standing still, and those on the side moving. It creates a great dynamic.
I could only take a few shots yesterday, since there was massive security and people on all sides. If you would like to see a shot of the packed terminal during the celebration, I would be happy to e-mail you one. I couldn't get anything that was technically great, but I was more interested in capturing history. :-)

Les 2 secondes de pose permettent "d'animer" la photo et de rendre l'image de ce lieu très vivante. Belle réalisation.

Hello Erling,
You chose a very well angle for these fantastic daily life picture.
The move of the people gives an extra touch to the picture.
But I like your light management together the people and light in background.
Your picture is very well taken with a high quality.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
John

Hello Erling,
this is greatly captured scene form the Central Station. I like the idea of blurring some of the people to highlight the movement and general mood of rush in this place. Great colors and perfect sharpness.
