Photographer's Note
back from our trip to New York and already back in the hamster wheel, jetlag forgotten, I d' like to start of my series on New York with a traditional shot.
Taken in central park, near the Wollman ice rink, looking up the pond and 59th street towards Columbus circle, this is an iconic New York scene.
Even though hurricane "Sandy" passed trough the city, there was amazingly little damage to see and I was quite surprised to see leafs left on the trees in central park

Daniel
An excellent shot to show the beauty of the city in the autumn. I like the golden tones of the season and particularly the leaves that are floating on the pond. Very well composed.

Good to see you back! :) I'm glad to hear you've got a series of photos from NY to show us.
I really like the colours here and the subtle light. You conveyed the atmosphere of autumn in the city so well. The floating foliage makes it special.

Hi dear Daniel
Welcome back from your travels, I wondered where you'd escaped to. I bet it's starting to get cold in NY and your photo illustrates that well. I know you're a winter person, so this doesn't bother you, but I'd be shivering! Beautiful vertical frame, lovely green tones and amazing reflections. The gold of the Autumn leaves is the cherry on the cake. Stunning shot, thanks for sharing.
Warm regards
Lisa

hi daniel,
this is a great picture. you have the lovely pond surrounded by greenery and the lovely leaves, which could be a park anywhere, and then behind it are these massive skyscappers, revealing that it is actually in the city. the portrait format helps add excellent depth to the picture.
have a lovely sunday,
brian

Hi Daniel,
I am glad to hear that the nature of the Central Park was not damaged too much. Lovely classical shot from this famous place. Nice asymmetry. Great autumnal colors and well used reflection.

Hello Daniel,
You're capturing well this typical sightseeing spot by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see both of high buildings and quiet park with autumnal tints. It's sentimental for yellow fallen leaves which fell to the pond, too. And, the reflection of buildings projected to the pond draws out an additional good effect in this image. Have a nice weekday!

Bonjour Daniel,
J'aime bien cette présentation qui rend une belle atmosphère d'automne avec le calme du parc. Les reflets dans l,eau sont un atout et les arbres en couleurs cadrent bien les gratte-ciel.
Meilleures salutations

Hi Daniel
A new view to me of this city, but I would never tire of seeing new shots of this incredible skyline. I too am surprised to see such leafy trees after such a storm. Is that tall building on the left under construction? It seems to tower over the surrounding anv ery New York style buildings.
All the best
Noel

Hello Daniel,
What a special capture. My mother when she was alive did an oil painting of your capture on a rainy day. I loved her picture and I love yours. Thank you!

Hello Daniel,
You know to find the places and know to find
the beautiful point of view's. The picture
has beautiful layers and this creates a lots
of depth and makes also the buildings higher
and the picture exciting. The vertical
position emphasize that extra. The light
management is also great and a nice extra
are the warm (autumn) colors.
Friendly regards,

Hi Daniel,
Traditional shot, yes...but one I always enjoy seeing! Perhaps it's the tones, but this has an antiquated appearance, making it different than most, which is what initially caught my eye. It's a great reflection and very solid composition, I especially like the touch of grass/reeds at the bottom of the frame. It really is a pleasant view right along the perimeter of Central Park, and you've done it justice putting it on display in such a fine manner. Thanks for sharing this view from the park. Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Jason
p.s. "Back in the hamster wheel"....'aint that the truth! Love the description! :)
