Photographer’s Note
I had 48 hours in New York as a little extension to a work related trip to Philadelphia - my first time in the States - I loved this little stretch along the East Side of Manhattan - so much going on in the early morning - just everyday stuff but quite photogenic - lots of runners, riders and here near chinatown lots of older people doing their morning workouts.

Like a rhyme is your title and a poem is your photo. You know how much i like B&W with full Bs and Ws, reflections and bikes also do attract. Dynamic diagonals go very well to cheer up the almost static atmospere. A pond of clouds? It is soft :)

Hello Kev,
This is a beautiful scene, presented very artistically and perfect in B/W. I really like the reflection, where we get a larger view of the sky than in the actual image. The thing about this scene that strikes me the most is the feeling of tranquility. That is not an easy thing to capture here in NYC! :-)

Hello Kev
classic photo of one of the most photographed bridges in the world
But this is a unique view of it, not too often do we see in the foreground a bike rider.
you also have a wonderful reflection
and the choice to post in blank and white was excellent.
Very well use of your 2 days in NY
Thanks
Craig

Hello Kev,
Wonderful composition and excellent POV. The reflection has a nice impact in this image. Looks perfect in greyscale. The cloudy sky keeps the feel of the image of an idle start of the day. TFS.
Best Regards,
Partha

outstanding kev... may be an ordinary new york morning yes, but your compo has something poetic in it... the light, the high contrast, the biker, the reflections... they all work in harmony to please our eyes, our hearts and souls... miss your work a lot out here... take care...

Salut.
Photo trés sympa, un reflet magique, bien capté et bien soigné, le choix du noir et blanc est approprié,pour finir une belle petite vue sur Manhattan...
Bravo.

what a privilege to see KR's works on TE.....:-)))
so - america! america! america!...
apart from that obvious thing of reflection that i like, i find the geometry of this image very interesting - lots of parallel lines, symmetry which you nicely break with this composition...
most interesting work,
best, j.

Kev, I'm coming to NY next week, from Austria is coming Chris Brandstaetter (first time in Big Apple!).. we need some urgent know-how: what, where and how much.:). May we count on you?? :)
Like your shot a lot! I am generally in love with simple but symbolic urban pics.. it's so nice to find sth creative made on the quite common, almost every-day theme in a well-know, postcard-like place.. sth what breaks the rules of stereotype.. This is one of them.
with regards, agn

a masterpiece!
a classic monochrome, with Manhattan in the background.
the composition really balances the elements in the frame although it looked a little cramped on top at the first look.
