You allways surprise me with your original captures. This one is very funny and perfectly composed. I love the b/w treatment. Excellent shot!

Wow, Fabio... Such a wonderful, intimate moment you have captured here, this is indeed as close as can be... I like so much their looks, so different... And great light, also. Very good picture, Fabio!

Very good scene. I like your perspective and the capture of a decisive moment. Good choice to use B&W, with great contrasts. Very well done framing of the shot also.
It would be interesting to how his shot turned out..."chin & lip".
Galeota (10352) 2006-08-17 7:08
Hello Fabio. Guess he's shooting with a Leica (not the dog; the other one). Even with a wide angle and a close focus distance seems rather like a macro of her lips: an image of all the kisses she's given during her life. I like the light in here.

It's amazing you could get as close to the action as this Fabio, even with 200mm. I like the tight crop and the B&W. She would have to be very confident about the condition of her skin. :D. Well done

ciao Fabio bel momento!! davvero originale e perfetta la scelta del bianco e nero che da un sapore retrò all' immagine...Inutile dire che anche le luci lavorano molto bene!
efigesta (12188) 2006-08-17 10:12
interesting b/w portrait here, a fotographer to another
plimrn (21344) 2006-08-17 10:54
You've captured wonderful detail in the B & W. I think a tighter crop would enhance the closeness of the scene. From your critiques, that is a minority opinion but I like to avoid scrolling if possible when I post here. I agree with chris' comments aabout BW as a good choice and his interest in how the shot turned out; also Kath's comments about the impressiveness of feeling like you're right in the action.

A great B&W image, it could easily be an everyday street scene as opposed to a movie shoot. Not that it matters!
The tight crop is good, as are the details within the shot. Nice light & shadow too.

Nikon WS Leica....2 mondes mais toujours de la photo.
C'est un chouette moment que t'as capturé là, et j'aime bien ce n/b, ces deux personnes et ce Leica....on a de la peine à situer l'image dans le temps.
Sacré close-up, j'aurais bien aimé voir son résultat.

Wonderful closeup of an absolute closeup. It’s fascinating how you see the subjects & capture them with your lens. Your originality is something which never ceases to amaze me & this photo is no exception. Excellent!

Its great! Very natural and interesting. I like the format - it's like an old Hasselblad report picture.
rosaline (0) 2006-08-18 4:21
Interesting concept and shot. The play of light and shadow is particularly interesting and the nostalgic, almost 60s feeling to the picture, has a nice aura and impact. A good, close up, indeed.
syd1946 (18663) 2006-08-18 5:35
As your title said, this is a very succefully close up shot.Great idea, wonderfull black and white choise.Excellent!
john_c (24666) 2006-08-18 12:35
Remarkable clarity and fine lighting in this unusual shot. The shadow effects are superb and it does suit the B&W format. The lady is obviously an actress to be able to tolerate the camera at such close range without apparent flinching. The texture of the background wall enhances. Well done, Fabio. There is good action here.

men inspections women, evermore, everywhere
veronika (6058) 2006-08-18 15:18
And this is what i can´t handle, to have camera so close "on my nose" :)) But the lady seems to be relaxed and ok with it, man of course as well :)
Perfect scene Fabio, i like it a LOT :)
Burberry1 (6041) 2006-08-18 17:24
Great capture and good photographs eye!
the photo is quite funny and they seem to be so absorbed with each other...
I love the bright light on the actors faces,
his determination and
her peaceful expression!
Very well done.

sam224 (6215) 2006-08-20 6:53

Wow what a capture. I'm no movie star expert, but I think this man may be Sean Penn. He is a very good actor....I think he may have won an Academy Award. I think the woman is also famous as well.
If it is Penn, he is also a director, producer, and screenwriter.
ndb1958 (9289) 2006-11-20 15:50
this guy reminds me to Sean Penn. Is it him?
Even if not it is a great double portrait. The shot is kind without time. That's strong.
Very nice image and you caught the right moment.

bellissima questa presa tra ritratto e effetto, sai che il B&W è sempre il meglio epr me. Sono tornata a postare dopo pausa anche a seguito di nuova mostra. Saluti Alesssandra
