Photographer’s Note

This one is for Isa - she advised me to post it.

Beebe Lake is a manmade lake near the center of Cornell University's campus. The lake was formed in 1838, when the university founder Ezra Cornell dammed Fall Creek to obtain power for a new mill downstream. It is still used for this purpose, as well as a source of water for cooling buildings.
The name of the lake comes from Jeremiah Beebe, an Ithaca industrialist who employed Ezra Cornell in his youth. In the early days, Cornell faculty and students skated and sleighed in the winter and used it for canoeing and swimming when warm enough. For safety concerns, all but canoeing are now prohibited.
Another interesting myth is that if a couple walks the entire mile-long footpath around Beebe Lake holding hands, they are destined for marriage. (info from Cornell Natural Beauty )

I tried to get some of the gorgeous colors of the fall. Hope you liked it - as always, comments appreciated.
