This certainly isn't your traditional travel shot, but one of the important things about capturing a place to me is documenting that which a culture covets and idolizes. I use a lot of religious imagery and American flags in my work. That Robert Frank influence showing through...

This is the Holga again, and I can't tell you why I like this one, but I just do. This was meant as a throwaway roll of film to test this Holga for my class. Go figure.

I agree with you that to show a place needs to show all small details and abstracts of its civilisation...And under this point of view this is a great shot!

Something in this photo bothers me. maybe its the perspective, or maybe the cropping.
I think it would have looked better without the 'gown', so my recommendation is to crop the top 1/4. (right after the feet connect) so they will take one third of the height in a square image.

Interesting shot. Sort of Sally Mannesque IMO.

Diana: this is unique, a totally personal vision. George Aegean is right - you've found the detail that captures the place.

Throwing away this shot would be a CRIME. Never think of it. One of the most powerful images I've seen all month. Almost gut wrenchingly so.

Great mood, very personal.

I'm glad I took the time to wonder aimlessly thru TE. Another dream photo for me. Great images you have in your mind.

A brilliant piece of work - stands out a mile.
