[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Note the pileated woodpecker low on this old maple in North Conway. His chips are on the snow as he digs for insects. His excavation is about 6 inches deep by 3ft long in a rock (sugar )maple. He is black and red with his back to the camera. He is notoriously shy, so this was a long shot.
