Photographer’s Note

Groveton covered bridge is situated in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire. It is one of the only covered bridges of New England that has been painted both inside and outside.
The bridge spans the Ammonoosue River.
The photo shows how elaborate and heavy the construction is.
The bridge dates from 1852 and was built by Captain Charles Richardson and his son. When U.S. Route 3 was reconstructed in 1939, the Groveton covered bridge was bypassed. It is now used for foot traffic only.

In workshop you can find a front view of the bridge.
