Photographer’s Note

This bridge spans the Piscatiqua River between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, Maine. This river is used by large oil tankers, tall ships, U.S. Nuclear submarines and various large ships, thus it is extremely deep. It is abundant with salt water fish of all kinds. This is not a drawbridge, so you can envision the height of this structure. If you are afraid of heights, take a boat instead. This bridge was built in 1971.
