Photographer’s Note
The South End of Portsmouth, New Hampshire as seen from Pierce Island.
Portsmouth was the site of the first English settlement in New Hampshire, in 1623. Today it is a small city with more than 20,000 people, but its colonial roots are certainly intact.
It's my favourite city in New Hampshire, especially the picturesque Strawberry Banke and South End.
