I love trains. The speed, the solidity, the idea to have a mammoth beast roll effortlessly across the earth controlled by humans makes them highly romanic a sight. This picture taken from a low angle is very nice. I would prefer to move the frame slightly right to have more space before the train, cut the shrubs a bit and have the rails and the train go deeper into the frame. I think it will give better perspective and lines. I also feel that the frame is slightly tilted. But, overall, a nice picture. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to TE Robert. Good PoV for this, and a good idea to use the plant in the compo, though I think I'd have cropped most of it to make more of a framing device. The scan's resulted in rather a soft focus image, there's probably quite a lot of thhings to do there with PP and scanner settings. Lots of useful tips from this site.

So they got an old diesel now. When I was there in 1980 there was about three miles of track and an early 20th C steam engine. Locos as in the photo were still in use on cummuter servies around Boston. How far does the line run these days?

Excellent choice of the lower angle, good dof and perspective.
I only will suggest a negative scanning.. if you have time, take a look at my portfolio... I think it gives a higher definition.
Anyway, I like it very much.
Rgds,
Carmem

What Carmen busco means is that you should scan the negatives (and slides) because they give a better resolution. Your scanner must be equipped to do that. This being said, you have a very good angle for phothgraphing this trains. You get a lot of perspective here.

Bonjour Robert,

Tres sympa ce train, la persepective en contre plongee est superbe en plus le train a une belle couleur pour la photo.

Hola gracias por la votacion. Personalmente tu foto me gusta mucho. Seguimos en contacto.

Saludos y gracias

Great low angle showing ties and rails. Colourful scheme. It is great to see those old engines in action, it is almost a photo from times gone by.
