Ebbe did a great workshop on this photo, he closed the crop making it a more interesting composition, he sharpen the image creating a more 3D effect. Thank you Ebbe it's a better photo now.

The sap buckets on these maple trees in N.H. are colecting sap that will be boiled down to make sugar. Maple sap is 2% sugar and weighs 8.35 lbs. per gallon. Maple syrup is 66.9% sugar and weighs 11 lbs per gallon. One gallon of maple syrup makes 7 lbs of maple sugar. Maple syrup contains 50 calories per Tablespoon,corn syrup contains 60 calories per Tablespoon. The covers on the buckets prevent rain, snow, and twigs from falling into the buckets. The sap run this year is slow, it takes cold night and warm days to make the sap run at max.

Thanks for this one, Frank. I'd heard how this was done but never seen... I think they do something similar in Russia with the silver birch trees.
