Another old building

NOTE: This part of the note is added hours after the posting. The saturation is way down from the shot I thought I posted. I say this because I don't want anyone to think I am going in for losaturation colors any time soon...

It is an old unused building, obviously a supplier of gas and gas appliances, and it is in the center of Palmer, Massachusetts which is just a wide spot in the road.

The shapes and colors on this building are mesmerizing (to me anyway) and I find myself shooting it often. This is as shot except for USM and adding a half f-stop brightness back in. It is seven days short of six months between the two shots.

If anyone wants to tell me hoy to make links, I use a Mac, please feel free...

Hola Greg,
Gran contraste de colores todos ellos intensos y bien saturados. Me gusta la composición aunque los cables me molestan un poco a la vista, pero se que a veces son inevitables.
Excelente luz y detalles.
Cordialmente
Charo

Greg,
I do enjoy looking at some of the old rundown historical buildings. Unfortunately, There not too many around in the part of U.S. As soon as it get old we tear it down and build new one. This is nice image with great detail and sharpness. Saturation is just fine, little bit more or less would still be just fine. One can tell when it's overdone. I enjoyed it. Thanks always.
Kind regards,
Way

I had commented on this before leaving for work, but now notice that for some reason it didn't go through. I love seeing this old building, another very nice picture of it. I prefer the sky in this one. All of our old similar buildings have been all torn down. I always liked that writing on the walls. A very good pov. TFS and have a good day!

Hello Greg,
We have all our preferences and our attachments, and I understand your attraction for this masonry which has heart and even of the imposing presence and dignity in his abandonment. Pleasant work.
Have a nice day

lovely strong colors with the right amount of saturation and contrast. I especially like the combination of blue, red and green - all very strong and perfect.

hello, greg

a charming old-timer indeed. the sky is perfect, and so is the green setting around. clarity is top notch too. however, i feel, a closer crop would work better compositionally for this subject.

warm regards,
kristaps

Hello Greg,

The specially colour of the building, gives a feeling as old railway station in previous century or a colour of baron out of feudal period.
The three colour together with the blue sky and the green vegetation make this picture very well.
Very well done.

Best regards,
John.

hello Greg,
I can easily understand your fascination with this old building, the faded signs always make me wander about all the things this place has seen. love the colours too, especially the fiery red of the bricks. but I have to say that the wires bother me a lot, and I also seem to detect some compression artefacts around them. I see what Kristaps is saying about a tighter composition, and I think that's something to try, depending, of course, on the story you want to tell.

regards,
Kristine

Interesting composition, decrepitude gives so many occasions to dig rich details it's easy to be lost in contemplation of memories.

Hello Greg. Old maybe but still strong and making excellent landmark in stunning texture and color. I like the contrasting green shrubs and spotless blue sky too. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hi Greg,
There a few such brick structures in Schenectady and many in Troy NY. The old waterfront areas always have these big red brick warehouse type buildings. This one is a beauty with wonderful 19th century details. The lush green overgrowth and striking blue sky contrast vividly with the old brick structure.
If you ever get to Troy River St. has about 2 miles of these many have been converted into resturants and theaters.
Regards, Tom

Hi Greg,
I dig the fact you keep going back to this fascinating building, it's more than worth it, and... I happen to do the exactly the same with a number of building/spots too.
Lots of atmosphere in here, great POV, well saturated colors. The latter look fine on my iMac, both in Firefox and in Safari, but I know, as I've been there a whole bunch of times myself and I still am... you never know how they're gonna look like on TE. Most of the time they lose saturation, as a rule...

Cheers,
Fulvio.
