for years my Australian friends have been tormenting me with Christmas cards showing sunny beaches, blue sky and cocktail glasses with umbrellas in it. I realise the end of December is the height of summer down under, but it doesn't help the poor souls up north who on dark mornings wade through rain, snow and sleet. so when I saw several posts from Australia entitled "autumn" (like this great shot) I could not resist posting something similar, but very, very different. it's spring up here! and the weather is only going to get better.

about the photo - early evening shot with the sun low behind me. ISO 100, 10mm focal length, spot metering and auto white balance.

Hi Kristine,

you found a wonderful point for shooting. The little bridge and the yellow tree form a nice couple. Like a postcard. Well done!

An spring shot and a bridge to the yellow..I like the way that bridge is going to the yellow trees,I like the strong yellow here and the position of colours in your shot.I'm glad spring is comming there, here it's still reluctant, but it's lean out.

so... the YELLOW bush over the river, aye? ;) love the light and the color combination in this one. it was irresistible even from afar from the car window, wasn't it? :) a nice, sunshiny shot. :)

hugs,

Hi, Kristine -

Nice combination of colors here - definitely the feel of spring!

Speaking of torment: When I moved to San Francisco, I would call up friends back in New York around Xmas-time and oh so casually mention that the calla lilies were blooming in my back yard again. :-)

Best,
Dan

Kristine, nice thought sharing our spring while theose in Oz are entering the winter, but I bet winter there is wasier than here... Your shot is nice, the color so true to the way these bushes really look, a spring yellow so different that what we will see in 5 months when they turn again. technicals of the shot are great as usual and your choice of elements in the composition is very nice.

Hi Kristine,
One cannot go wrong with a lovely yellow and complimentary blue combo for a good image. The old foot bridge is the icing on the cake. Excellent clear colors with sharp details to this spring time charmer.
Regards, Tom

Hey Kristine,
A lovely shot of this beautiful scenery. The POV is well chosen. I particularly like the contrast between the yellow forsythia and the clear blue sky. The wood bridge adds something special to your composition. Congratulations!!!
Greetings,
Natasha

Hi Kristine
Good shot with a splendid contrasts between yellows and blues. I have a special choise for the contrasts of these colors. The wood bridge well shinned is beautiful. You choose an interesting POV the which you caught a beautiful light on it. If you have a bit of free time, please, look this photo. Well done, Regards, Consuelo.

Spring?! Are you kidding? I guess i will have to start uploading some real summer pictures from California. Last weekend we got temps up to 105F! Well, it might be difficult to get real hot pictures, everything is already dry and golden and that will stay like this until november. So, yes it is also the revenge for me. My early spring shot moments are long gone and now I have to savour it through the East Coast pictures.

hi Kristine

Yes, I like this pov and the lovely colors of spring to show the nice footbridge. Well composed and great view. The bunch of yellow leaves at left really make a strong presence to make this shot its main attraction. Pale blue sky to go with it nicely too. Good season for your USA visit.

Hi Kristine!
Very beautiful shot of spring nature!
Especially beautiful it is made by the contrast between bright yellow leafs of these bushes (or such blossoms? but here is too much of them!) and light blue sky - like on Ukrainian flag :)
Kind regards, Igor

Salut Kristine! I spent Christmas at the beach but there was something missing (mother maybe ...) and I was a little homesick to be honest but they say the same that it is no way Christmas when the sun is not burning and sweat is pearling down your face. Nice idea to tease your friends with this bright yellow. These plants are over in Switzerland meanwhile but what remains are the canola fields and soon enough the sunflowers come up. Enjoy what spring brings you, live it at the fullest if you can :) All my best, take care, Thursday brings me over to Denver ... I can't wait, and count the days, more later, Barbara.

Sveika Kristine,

A gorgeous image, augmented by a note that I can identify with. It is nice to be heading into summer, although the very best seasons around here are April-May and September-October. The yellow of the forsythia against the blue of the sky creates the Swedish national colors. A very good composition, superb colors and resolution.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Hi Kristine,
Love the sharpness of all your pictures.
Sharpness is still one of the my problem areas. Most of my pictures come out a little soft. This picture has wonderful colors and is very crisp also I like the angle you chose.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Kristine,
Nice framing, I like the way the bridge curves between the two golden trees, (forsythia?) and the petals floating in the reflection.

How interesting to compare the golden trees of spring with the golden trees of fall.
