The beach in Scituate really isn't much of a beach - there is lots of sand here, but as you can see, there is also a seawall, and the water comes right up to the base of the seawall (and, judging from the condition of the seawall, over it as well). But this is still a popular seaside community, even though it gets hammered by nor'easters every winter.

Fantastic blues in the sky and sea, Roger, with the well-composed white accent in the chair. I know I'd require a wrap to sit there, but gimme a good book (and perhaps a flask) and I'd be happy for hours.

You have given us an interesting note about this place and also a very striking photograph!
Your composition is both excellent and pleasing and that brightly lit plastic chair is perfectly placed and just invites the viewer to sit down and enjoy the distant view. The contrast between the brightly lit foreground and the much darker sea and sky is delightful. Lots of lovely details in the distant buildings too.
Gorgeous light and colours, excellent composition, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

O.K., this is a lot more appealing now! :)
Even if it weren't in contrast to yesterdays picture, I would still find this to be quite beautiful. It may be a weathered and worn beach, but it looks inviting none the less...especially under a bright blue sky!
I really like the deep blue water against the softer sky and wispy clouds...the controlled exposure feels to have everything just as it should be. And as a nice bonus, your timing to catch the gull in flight is just the right touch of liveliness to the calm scenery. Have a great day ahead. Take care.

thanks for this post, its a scene I certainly havn't seen before from Massachusetts.
and you're right, it seems like the beach is kinda rough!
but for me, its the ocean, the homes, and the clouds/skyline in this photo that work so well.
nice photo overall,
see you around

The nicely placed chair is an invitation to step in and rest a while as we take in this pleasant scene. It also helps to give the image depth. The converging lines of seawall and horizon help create a strong composition. Fine technical presentation.

This may not be the kind of beach where I would choose to spend my vacations, but it looks nice enough for an excursion and the photo is certainly nice enough. The composition depends a lot on the white chair which fills the foreground and attracts my attention. It also provides a balance to the buildings seen in the background on the right side. The narrow range of colors gives the picture a smart and stylish appearance.

Ciao e buona serata

Bright and sunny bring lots of joy reflecting the true spirit of summer time, still not too late enjoy the sun, sea and sand!! A nice exploitation with some bright colors rendering lots of strength with the stunning contrast to deep blue water and sky. This is lively shot to be found in simplicity, a shot that perfectly encapsulates the season. The wing friend is the icing on the cake, timely shot. Very well done, Congrats and tfs.

Rather a forlorn looking beach Roger with the quiet colour palette adding to the atmosphere of neglect. The lone white chair is the element that the whole shot hangs on giving narrative to the shot. Nicely seen and a fine commentary. Warm regards rosemary
