Photographer’s Note

It was a cloudy and to-be-stormy Monday. It looks that the bad weather was bad for the canoe renting business; not so bad for a photo opportunity :D.
A picture taken not far away from the Fisherman’s Wharf and the Lobster Restaurant.

I like the composition of this photo. You captured the old style buildings with their dull colors and contrasted them against the brilliance of the canoes/kayaks. Very nice pov.

Hi Wes. What an amazing graphic effect this swirly and colourful line of canoes makes. I like the contrast with the surrounding muted colours. I'd crop a bit from the top of the shot. Well seen and taken!

Hi Wes. That's quite a line of canoes. You were fortunate to have them all available. You can tell it's overcast but the polarizer helps bring back some of the colors. I like the composition too. Very nice one Mr. Wes!

Hi Wes, I really like the boats in this photo. They seem to become one fluid mass, flowing on top of the water. I like the colors and the shape in that mass. I hope you took some photos concentrating on the boats.

Ireally like the contrast between the colorfull canues and the desaturated background. The use of the closest canues are very good too.

A very colorfull image Wes. The rainbow of colors of the boats contrast well with the rest of the image. I certainly would not want to be the one that has to go down and get in the small cayak.

Il existe des moments favorables pour réaliser de bonnes photographies, c'est le cas ici !
Le ciel n'était pas clément, mais la prise de vue sur les canoës est parfaite. Chaude en couleurs, c'est une composition très réussie.

hehehe, its awesome wes, initially i thought it was a desaturated image (when i was looking at the thumbnail) but then after opening up to the full size - it striked me with the shiting colours of the canoes!

Hi wes - The row of canoes attracts my eyes - a fine repetition, specially the blue ones - can't help thinking if the image would have been better if you zoomed in on this portion of the image - but thanks for giving us harbour as well.

Hello Wes, these canoes are very attractive. I like the way they appear to be one being, with the ripple of the line looking like a curving backbone. The fact that the line of boats twists round at the bottom of the frame makes this composition superb.

A specially one, the boats row give a quite a line with these cayaks, the small pier give good perspective, maybe a very dangerous with the ladder.

You really nailed this one, my friend. I love the colours and symmetry of the kayaks and canoes, it resembles an Impressionist water colour painting. Good clarity of detail on the building, which also balances the scene. A great shot where you proved that weather will not hold back a good TE photographer.

Il est possible aussi de zoomer avec un cadrage plus serré.
