Photographer’s Note
at the second stop during our mini-TE meeting dedicated to the lighthouses of New England I was fascinated by the perspective of this pier, and how the light and colours created the mood of the perfectly relaxed weekend afternoon.
to learn the story about the almost invisible lighthouse at the end of the pier, look at this photo by Greg.

Kristine,
Perfect day I must say and beautifully captured. Great sharpness and clarity. Great composition, I love the blue sky with scatter cloud dancing across the sky from the horizon and toward us and almost fell like it would float out of the frame. It feels wonderful looking at this image like a breath of fresh air. Thanks

Bonsoir Kristine
The perspective is indeed really fantastic and it is also strengthened by the clouds which follow another direction.
I like very much the unity of colors enter blue, white and beige.
Bravo, it's a great shot

Yes it was a perfect day, and the wide view really puts the pier into perspective, it was a long one enroute to the little light house in the bay. Picture is perfect too.

Hi Kristine,
Splendid shot with a magnificent perspective and good control of lights. The blue sky with some dispersed clouds are marvelous. The people walk for the pier increase dynamism and life for the picture. It's a beautiful work! Best regards, Consuelo

Sveika Kristine,
You and Kristaps are matching each other image by image — having critiqued his 100th, I will comment on your 101st. You've chosen a very good vantage point, overhanging from the bannister it appears. The wide walkway provides nicely "converging parallel lines," especially in the light posts. Are you shooting in RAW, jpg or the combination?
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Kristine,
That is a pretty perpective you got here. The left side merges nicely with the straight horizon behind it. Nice.

A truly great one, Kristine!
That perspective is awesome, the depth goes to infinity making the scene somewhat almost surreal, I have the impression this construction is hovering in the air...probably because of the clouds also. Love the weekend, relaxed feeling, and this fantastic blue.
Maybe, just maybe if you had waited for a couple of seconds more - to have the bike boy closer to the left you could have had him with a nice shadow appearing too. But on the other hand, the composition is somehow 'cleaner' this way...just thinking aloud :)
Super job!
have a perfect day!

Hi Kristine:
I like the treatment that he has given to balancing the whites, especially in the field of clouds.
The depth of field diagonally, has been a good idea, the young man on the bike gives you a valuable impetus to the composition and straight lines near the lamps, give it a nice graphics to determine the vision. A beautiful work, no doubt. Congratulations

What a light you have in Massachusetts!
Amazing sky and amazing bridge without cars!
Everything (positive) that can be said about this picture is well deserved. You already got pretty good comments, what else can I say?
One only wishes to tread that bridge in a day like that.
Have a good day,

Hi Kristine,
It looks like just a perfect day! Scattered fluffy white clouds in the deep blue sky above the sun lit walkway all make for a great shot. But what I like the most is your super wide angle and the perspective looking down the pier sharp all the way down, and everything is so clean and structured.

Hey, wait a minute! I saw the same 'landscape' already today at TE but with two characters well known to me. A pretty lady with a big Nikon with a polarizing filter attached to their lens and a big guy with the same camera but defiantly without a polarizer on the lens ;-)
Wonderful perspective with the lines ending up in some imaginary infinite point of convertion. The bluest blue of the sky and the poppy clouds makes this a wonderful image.

Hello Kristine
A perfect day for a perfect picture I guess. Use of perspective is excellent with the railing on the right just zipping us right into the depths of the picture. The converging perspective works well & the light is delicious under the perfect blue polarised sky. Good work Kristine!

Hello Kristine,
the architecture of this pier is boring, but what surrounds it make this a perfect day for sure. That light ! That blue ! The few people scattered, the diagonal. The cotton like smooth clouds. Perfect quality and light management, you are a master with colors too, don't know how you do it, but so it is. My blues do come out rather dull at my sea scenes...my compliments and have a great weekend! (P.S. I could also imagine a desaturation with an almost black sky...:). Great work.
Cheers from
Michèle

Good morning, Kristine! I love to walk on piers, slowly going down until you reach the end. Your photo smells of seaweed and I have salt in my hair just by looking and there is normally this sea breeze going making my hair look, I don't know, terrible, and I cry for a hairdresser (yes I out myself, I have seen Sex and the City together with 35 American housewives, and Benno as the only male, somewhere in Colorado three weeks ago or so ... poor Benno, I guess you have to be gay to appreciate these kind of movies ... but as he is not I had to see Indiana Jones the day after ...). This photo is fantastic, it really is. I find how you chose to include the cold looking silver handrail is the real winner in this one, bringing us out, together with the clouds and the cool blue of the sky. Fantastico ... enjoy your Sunday. Barbara.

Hi Kristine,
I had to take the calendar because something told me it was a 'perfect' saturday or sunday...Yes, saturday! People waking on this clean pier, the blue sky and its white clouds and your perspective...those things were conspiring for a very nice image. A pleasant seen, well done!

Hi Kristine,
I went, straight away, to this image of yours because of the whites and blues.
Love the POV that helps us appreciating the endless perspective.
What can I say of the light that has not been said before?

Maria
