Photographer’s Note
Color abounds in the forests of New England this time of year. Here, the watery swirls along the bend in the stream were very compelling. I was mesmerized by them.
This is taken early in the morning, about an hour or two after sunrise.

Hello Kathy,
The colors really are beautiful just north of NYC. We should be seeing them in a week or so. I like the relfection in the rippling water- I think it is prettier than the actual trees! TFS your MA colors. :-)

This must have been a difficult one to do because of the bright sunlight on those autumn leaves. The watery swirly reflection of the colours in the water is magical, and the whole effect is like a painting.

I share with you the feeling of being mesmerized. The coros are wonderful and the swirl in the foregroung reflections are fantastic. The contrast and sharpness in the background could be improved a little bit.
Best Regards, Peter

Very nice multi-colored shot, Kathy. I think my favorite part of this photo are the fall colors reflected in the foreground waves, which makes for a strong presentation. The touches of green also work well, especially on the right, which lead the viewer into the background.
Well done!

hi, Kathy, what a beautiful reflection on the water and also the colors. They almost look unreal...

Hi Kathy,
I've only been away for a few days and come back to this spectacular view. If this image is anything to go by, the forests in New England must be a joy to see. It's not very often that a half-half POV works in acomposition - but the juxtoposition of the drying and speckled landscape as defined by the leaves with the smooth reflection in the water is gorgeous. A really lovely composition.
Best wishes,
Celina

This looks more like an abstract painting than a photograph, Kathy, but something that I would be proud to hang on my wall if I was the photographer. The colours and patterns in the water are just beautiful, and I like the way in which you have composed this. You lost a little of the saturation in the top half of the picture, because that needed less exposure than the bottom half - if you had shot this with a graduated neutral density filter (ND2 would have been all that you needed here) I think the result would have blown you away! Cheers . . . David

Hello Kathy,
This is a veritable artist's palette. Even the pattern in the water resembles a brush mixing colors. What an eye! It is true that the best time to photograph is an hour or two after sunrise, or an hour or two before sunset, and certainly with the sun overhead you would not get the seam reflections. I understand the colors of fall are suppose to be especially good this year. Regards from Virginia where the colors are lagging 2-3 weeks behind yours. Bulent
