Sunset Reeds Photo

Photographer’s Note

Celebrating a nice warm day I left work early and I went to a nearby restaurant to enjoy a hot fudge sunday outside. It overlooked a reservoir and I noticed the reeds at the water's edge, the setting sun, and the calm water...

Of course my camera was in the car so I shot this and managed to accomplish one my goals--a silhouette. Hand held. Hope you like it; comments welcome.

Very strong composition and a good silhouette. I like how you DO NOT see the buildings, only a hint of them reflecting the light off the water.

Hi Kathy,
You have framed this composition perfectly. The dark cat-tail slhouettes emphasize the beautiful light and color you have captured. The shadowy tree reflections frame the color in a pleasing curve. Wonderful job and a new favorite for me.

Kathy, a winning composition here! The sillouette and the warm color of the sun on the water leads the viewer into the scene. I found myself captivated by the details of the water ripples. Foreground and background sharpness are near perfect. great job!
