Very good shot, one needs a lot of luck to be able to shoot more than a tail or a back fin of these whales! Nicely composed, it's great to se the whale passing in front of a familiar background. It reminds me of Nova Scotia. Good exposure, good colors. I would be tempted to crop 200 pixels on the bottom and maybe a bit on the left.

Maybe next time out you will get one jumping. You must have to have patience to get a shot of one of these. Nice color and DOF. I like the light houses in the background.

This is truly impressive, Frank, too bad it didn't draw more attention so far. The mighty whale is very well captured in the foreground with the splashing water around him, and the atmospheric effect added by the lights of the two lighthouses in the background is beautiful. Great color setting in this scene by the rugged sea; very well done.

I like this picture very much, but there are a few things I find distracting... the catch lights on the lighthouses look fake and I'm sure what that yellow thing is flying over the whale. I'd be interested in knowing more about the picture in the note. That's not to say it's not a great picture, just feel like I'm missing some details

Wow! Awesome shot Frank!
Right place at the right time for a great shot! Beautifully composed- you could not ask for anything better (other then 2 or 3 of finbacks! :) haha) Just curious- did the light in the lighthouses just reflect that way- or was it some added magic? Regardless- it's great! Happy Shooting! - Dan
