It was cold in New England today - about 15F - but there were still several people playing hockey on a frozen pond in Cohasset. The church in the background is the First Parish in Cohasset church. It is currently a Unitarian church; the building itself dates from 1747 or so.

This is a very nice picture with a fine light and pleasant colors. Apart from the church it could have been from Sweden as well. I think kids here still play hockey on frozen ponds like they used to, although most would prefer their parents to drive them to the comforts of municipal indoor arenas. I like that you included the people huddling in the cold while watching the game. I had to check the internet to translate Fahrenheit to Celsius. 15F is a lot colder than most of Sweden now.
Kind regards and a happy 2014.

Standard Issue sounds and looks just fine to me!
My oh my this brings back alot of memories.
there's nothing better than playing hockey outdoors, i've done this myself dozens and dozens of times when i lived in Ottawa.
you've got the perfect backdrop with the illuminated church too, especially with the clock.
charming winter scene.
Hope you're enjoying your grandchild! :)
