Photographer’s Note

I found this very interesting composition at MIT's Strata Center. The cylinder-shaped building placed in front of the well known angular shaped structure in the background as is ready for some strange kind of confrontation.

Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Sigma 10-20 mm

I'd return that lens if I were you - totally unacceptable distortions! ;)

Weak jokes aside - I'd say almost the reverse is true, this one looks about as sharp and detailed as anything can on TE.

Having craved a decent wide-angle for years - having "lost" mine in the change from film to cropped digital sensors - I eventually purchased this same Sigma 10-20 some months ago. As is often the case with "cravings which become realiites" - the craving has passed and I've barely taken it out of the box!

Magic reflections, colours, focus, POV - this all works so well and it's funny trying to work out what's happening.

Nice composition, good colors and high technical quality. Reminds me a bit of the math building at the University of Arizona where I attended college. That building is in the shape of a 4-dimensional cube unfolded into three dimensions.

hi Michael,
I've had that Sigma lens for several years now, and let me tell you - that is one awesome beast, and this photo is an excellent proof of that. love the shot, the contrast between the shapes and angles is hypnotically fascinating, and I particularly like how the rust brown colour seems to tie the composition together. very well seen and presented, my compliments.
