The grasses growing in the old dirt road caught my eye here. I tried to strengthen the foreground with the hints of goldenrod.

Hi Michael,
Nice composition. Like the curving road and beautiful colour of the sky. Probably a subject on that path would have made this an even better one.

Hi Mike;

A good composition, and natural colors, but I think you might be losing some detail in your resizing process- especially considering the 'L' series (pro lens) and the large aperature you were using.
If you tell me how you resize- I might be able to provide some suggestions...

All the best,
- Dan

Hi Michael,

Superb colour in this shot with a really well chosen composition.

The overall feel reminds me of the landscape work of my friend on TE luisalfonso

I think you need a little bit more sharpenning on this version, though I'm sure your full size version if fine

Excellent stuff
Craig

A fantasy scene that bespeaks of a fairytale and "Once upon a time" imagery. Many points of detail with curving lines of the pathway that lead into the distance while nicely anchored by the large foreground stones. A great capture!

Michael, I love the viewpoint here, and the very mellow atmosphere created by the colours, the rustic road, the almost invisible house, and the trees against the clouds. Sharpness is a little lacking here, perhaps as a result of a heavy crop. But it's still an appealing photo, allowing us to follow the path around the bend and up the slight hill.
Regards,
Andrew

Olá Michael

Hello Michael!
I have never been to Massachusetts, but as I see right now it's defnitely a very beutiful place.
Great colors and composition here, good job! I'm not about to be picky, but the trees in the upper left corner are the only inconsistent element hole picture.
Keep it up!
Jarek.

This is beautiful, Michael. I have read the other comments about a need for sharpening, but I like that soft effect. It suits your subject matter and your composition is excellent. Lovely colors, too. TFS, Shelly

A very well composed and exposed photo. Beautiful colours, I like the pink in the sky, and that says something, because I'm not a pink lover at all :) The road creates great depth, nicely taken from a very strong POV.
The sharpness is indeed lacking (a lot) which amazes me from a 17-40L, a lens I know is very sharp mostly. Is is the result of a bad sample of this lens, not very probably I think. Heavy crop then? Or maybe some movement, as the lens doesn't have IS and you've shot at 1/30th (which should be enough for a focal length of 17mm x1.5 = 25 -> 1/25th / 1/30th should be enough)
Maybe F11 would result in a slightly sharper image (most lenses perform best at F8 to F11) and also would allow you a shorter shutterspeed. But I don't know what the cause of the unsharpness is.
Better luck next time.

Regards,
Emiel.
