This view of the financial district and other buildings in downtown Boston was taken from across the Fort Point Channel, which separates downtown from the newly-developed Seaport district. The relatively large boat on the far shore is allegedly a replica of the Boston Tea Party boat; the small boat in the foreground is a miniature of same.

Ciao e buon fine settimana

Wow, Roger -- the miniature creates a real staggerstep in "reading" this image. Starting from the bottom, it seems we're a thousand feet aloft, but the buildings on the far shore belie our true POV. For me, this image works as a puzzle -- it presents the conundrum quite plainly, and the solution is, if not obvious, at least logical.
All my best to you and the family!

So good to see you back around again! I was just thinking about you and Andrew recently while watching the baseball playoffs...as much as it pains me to see the Red Sox winning. *sigh*
Quite an interesting effect from the wide angle here, it's created an unusual perspective of the downtown buildings...even feels kind of futuristic in appearance. Seems like quite a few people are catching the "bug" with these lenses...they're a lot of fun though, right? :) Well controlled exposure and sharp focus, this has turned out well. Have a great weekend ahead. C'mon Tigers! ha

Hello Roger - How lovely to see you back, I've been away and missed your last upload so it's good to catch up with you. The first thing that strikes me about this shot is the colour and light. Just fabulous. The gorgeous sheet of blue-green water with its soft reflections gives the context for the boats and the rows of Union Jacks. The buildings seem to flare out towards the sides of the frame and I quite like the distortion here. A well composed and detailed shot, well done!
And now a question for you. The Boston Tea Party is a section of the U.S. history that I think most people have heard of. I am interested to know why the political group the 'TEA PARTY' has that name, is it connected in any way with the Boston Tea Party?
Have a fine weekend Rosemary

Magnificent light for such a cityscape. The little ship is a nice detail.

This is an impressive view with some highly spectacular buildings. Watching an area like this it's good to be reminded that this place has a history, it's not all about glass and steel and skyscrapers, The replica of the Tea Party boat almost melts into the background but the miniature does its duty as a reminder of the past and also serves well as an eye-catching foreground. It is also nicely placed between the reflections of the high buildings.

This is very cool, I love a good skyline and this one is really superb. The light has allowed such a pleasing effect to your finished shot, and that little boat is a really brilliant addition, adding a greater sense of height to the already huge buildings. Very nicely done,

Such an amazing skyline of the famous city creatively composed that echoes the wonderful architectures of the high rise buildings seen from good view point. Great that you have included the replica boat as a strong pointer into the entire scene. i think you are blessed by such a brilliant weather, full of rich color tones, fine detail and superb clarity, and the jaw dropping blue water equally deserves attention as strong contributor to the grand image. You did very well here, it's simply gorgeous and pleasure to view. Congrats

Hi Roger, very good picture of this interesting and beautiful composition with the interesting contrast of sailboats and modern buildings, very well composed and captured in this beautiful image with good sharpness, depth, nice light and color. Excellent and interesting job perfectly done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good afternoon and happy Sunday.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

ok, so now i'm confused :)
the lower boat is that a toy? lol
looks so tiny compared to the real sail ship in the middle portion.
as for the city, I wonder why we don't see many shots of downtown Boston on TE. We often see Chicago, NYC, but not Boston.
so its a good day when we can see this one.
scanning the scene, I recognize some of the buildings to look exactly as the ones here in Vancouver.
you know i'm loving this, its a much appreciated view.
good job, thanks alot
