Photographer's Note

Taken somewhere in Boston on a weekend trip to Massachusetts,, whilst on a month's business visit in New York City.

The original shot was made using Agfachrome slide film in September 1985 Apologies for any technical shortcomings and lack of sharpness as a result of aging and the transfer to digital.

Stephen, this exact shot could not be accomplished today. The building in the reflection is the Old John Hancock tower, while the building it is reflected in is the new John Hancock tower, both in Boston's Back Bay. Today, another large building - 500 Boylston, a building in which I used to work - stands between them. So you've got a piece of Boston history here! Nice shot with great clarity and detail.

Fantastic reflection shot, the wall of glass alone is really impressive, but the building being reflected even more so. I love these kind of creative shots, and its nice to tie together a great reflection along with such cool monumental architecture!

Hello Stephen,

I missed this one and it is certainly worth a critique. I admire the fact that the principles of good composition were so well established in your psyche. The shot has lovely clarity even after all the work you must have done.
I also like how one's perception changes as it becomes obvious that this is a reflection, (the building at the left is the giveaway).

The reflections on the windows of the building are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the reflections. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
