Photographer's Note
This was partially the result of a shoot-from-the-hip experiment in Boston's Chinatown. I say partially because this wasn't actually a shot from the hip; I had taken one moments before, but in reviewing it in the viewfinder I found it to be too blurry. I liked the glow from the tarp on side and the lights on the other though, so I stopped to take it normally.

Hi Andrew
Beatiful graphic image. I like what you did with this rather mundane subject to turn it into a work of art. I really like the way you framed the various lines.
Best wishes
Kasia
PS. Now in Central Bosnia. I promise to post something from Sarajevo as soon as I see the pics on a "proper" screen at home. Until then I'm not sure if they're any good. :)

Hi Andrew,
Bravo for seeing a scene like this in a place most people would rush through, shows that there really is a good photo opp in many unexpected places. The light from the tarp is excellent, and the blue colour works brilliantly against the reds and yellow from the scaffold and wood. Very artistic shot, especially from such an unlikely place!
All the best

Hello Andrew
Given the shaded tunnel and the two sources of light natural and artificial, this image is well exposed and has a natural feel to it.
Compositionally its a classic lines and perspective shot but I think its the colour blue and yellow that contrast that pleases the eye.

Hi Andrew,
when I visit Manhattan scenes like that were very common. I like the light here and the lonly man in the end of the tunnel.

Hi Andrew
This is an art of photography, unseen beauty of mundane subjects seen thru naked eye but transformed into something special photographically. We will be surprised with abound of photo opportunities around us like this and strongly believe only keen trained photo eyes are able to uncover some hidden beauty amongst the normal looking things.
Also I admire the artistic touches, the props are there for a good reason, but presence of the mistery fig is vital glueing my eyes there..
Wonderful shot, TFS
Kind regards

You taken a simple subject, Andrew, and applied an artistic shot out of it.
A good colors mingle in the compo., light and DOF with the man silhouette well collected.
Cheers,
Ike

hi Andrew
it's really a common place, but the primary colors are gorgeous and the perspective lead the look on the black silhouette.
good job!
