Photographer’s Note
This shot is to give an idea of the interest in this event. The docks opened at 12 noon, and the lines to board one of these fine ladies was hours long, and there was an endless stream of people doing it. On the water side were these ferries being used as tour boats, this one was 190 feet long and probably had 1000 people onboard for the 90 minute tour, and this was 10:00 AM. We took the same boat later in the day and once at your sear there was no room to move at all. We started waiting early and got a seat at the rail on the upper deck but it was still elbow to elbow.

I don't imagine any of these shots were easy to get. You seem to have waited for just the right moment. The lighting, colors and detail are very nice here. 'She's' a beauty!! TFS

Hi Greg,
Love the yellow mast against the clear blue sky and the striking contrast between the old wooden beauty and thie modern steel ferry.
Excellent sharp details to this beautiful harbor scene.

Hello Greg,
That sightseeing ferry boat reminds me of ferries in warmer parts of the world hehehe!
But I guess you get a fine view of the proud sailing vessels from there...
And the fine ship in the back is well worth seeing, also shown well in this dynamic composition with good details!

Fine superimposing of the modern ferry and the tall ship. It really gives the idea of a very busy harbour scene. The bright light makes the picture alive. (I guess it had not been easy to crop undesired parts).
Warm greetings,

Hello Greg,
at the very first look at this photo I saw a curious juxtaposition of two boats and one "human boat" (that distant big apartment building)! People are here, people are there...
In my opinion, the composition is complicated but very good: you chose an interesting POV to take this shot and show the two boats together. This also looks like a traffic jam ;)
Best regards,
Elena

ciao Greg,
mi piace il contrasto tra le due imbarcazioni per la differenza degli anni e per lo stile.
Bella cattura all'interno del porto con il palazzoche dà profondità alla scena.
saluti
maurizio
