Photographer’s Note
The event is Sail Boston 209. About 40 Sailing ships participated and of them 5 or 6 were the fully rigged ships we typically call square riggers. The link will take you to the official web site that lists the ships by name and explains the classifications of them.
What amazed me the most was the turn out of people. Americans turn out to sports events and drinking events in droves but they also came out to see these magnificent machines of an age gone by, it was worth the trip and I am always heartened when the viewers are so well mannered as during this event.

Greg,
This is a nice shot of this festive harbor. The flags and masts make for a colorful scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Hello Greg,
This is a fine maritime scene with a forest of masts in an apparent disorder!
Good colours, with the red flags to contrast all the blue...
Seems like they have lovely weather and good sailing wind!

Hello Greg,
I have never seen anything like this before!
It resembles a boat party!!
The details of the colourful, fluttering flags certainly activates a festive atmosphere.
Well composed paying attention to the rule of thirds.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Greg,
Seen through your eyes and camera, it looks like a cheerful evet, with all those elegant ships, their masts and their colourful flags waving in the blue. Speaking of blue, the image is perhaps too bluish, but that can be part of its charm, I guess.

José

Hi Greg,
I will never get tired of viewing these majestic sailing ships (and the small boats are also pleasant)! You have captured indeed a festive atmosphere of this busy harbor. Maybe the light is a little bit too bright but who cares? It is a view that makes my heart jump a little bit higher! I also enjoyed reading your note. TFS!

An event I would have liked to attend!
What a color palette! it really conveys the atmosphere of a feast and celebration. Any close up of those old ladies?
I'm at home for a couple of days but I'll keep an eye for that!
Best regards,
Donato

A very interesting post and I'm sure a great event to attend. Probably because I live on the prairie I'm always attracted to the pictures of boats, ships, lighthouses, etc. This is a beauty!! Nice detail. TFS

Hi Greg,
Nice panoramic format, very well to show us this moment even the blue of the sea is, on my screen, a bit too much strong ...
