Photographer’s Note
From a recent trip to Quabbin Reservoir. I was photographing near some large boulders, trying to compose with a strong foreground element. I was not having much luck with the shots I made, so I moved closer to the water and I saw the sunlight hitting the small rocks and cobbles on the bottom of this clear water. Quabbin Reservoir provides many towns surrounding metropolitan Boston with drinking water some 80 miles to the east.

Hello Michael,
You're right, the sunlight on the rocks creates a beautiful effect and contrasts very nicely with the blue of the reservoir and sky. To my mind however there's just a bit too much blue water: I wonder whether with a slightly lower viewpoint you might have been able to get a bit more gold and less blue? Cropping the top 1/3 of the frame to make a square format would also create a wonderful abstract composition.
Regards
John

Hi Michael
It looks like a real gold, you’ve got it! This is a really good shot. You managed to get a really good combination of feeling of clean water and those sporadic lights and reflections. Thanks.
Cheers,
Dmitri
