Photographer’s Note

In some areas of New England it's been a lackluster year for bold fall colors. While at Quabbin Reservoir I saw this arrangement of the red color of the sumac in the foreground contrasted by the surrounding trees and blue sky, I shot a series of compositions here. The odd looking sumac seem to be out of there element here, hence, the title.

You always manage to capture the essence. This is very vivid, perfectly framed. It just feels very alive. You obviously really take your time to get the best shot.
