| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The closest I could find to a decent waterfall in this area is at Doane's Falls in Athol, MA. The sequence of small waterfalls forms a nice pattern. This is the idea I had in mind here.
As in most areas of the state, wherever there is a waterfall there once was a thriving mill. Amos Doane owned this land in the early 19th century and used his mill for the manufacture of wooden doors.
The land is now protected from develpment by a nonprofit agency. As a photographer, I find it reassuring to note that 37,000 acres of land is so protected by them in MA. |

bonjour Kathy,
great capture of this beautifull fall, good POV with the bridge view, too bad for the tree in the front of the lower fall, I like the water dynamism, good work,
bravo Martin

Hi Kathy,
Being from the arid West, I'm wondering what would make a decent waterfall? This looks quite impressive to me. I like the way you framed the photo showing the sequence of waterfalls; I especially like the pond at the bottom and the tree branches lacing over the water.
Regards, Pat
