So happy to get this shot of the river bed below the waterfall. I am like a kid in a candy store with delight. The timer worked, the tripod worked, and hopefully so did my point of view. Yipee!

Hi Kathy,
Yes it all worked really well. You've captured lovely light and color in your well-framed comp with the bright clear detail of the plant giving excellent depth to the flowing river. I like the way the stream alternates with the smooth flowing dark water and the cotton candy of the white water. it gives a better sense of speed than any photo of this Genre I've seen.
Regards, Pat

Kathy, Good mix of tones here. I'm really getting into shotting these kind of shots! This shot is well balanced with a nice touch of foreground greens. Nice for not shooting without a tripod. Great job!

Kathy,

This is nice and a great effect. I really like the framing but I think that a longer shuter speed would help. I always like to 'time' how long it takes the water to go from one area to another and use that to determine my shutter speed. Sometimes it's as easy as dropping a leaf in the stream and counting 'alligators' until it passes the interesting place. Once you have your shutter speed, or in this case 'time', than you just want to make sure that your highlights in the water are at zone 7 or 8. I prefer zone 7 as it still has detail and tezture.

Very nice picture. Well done.

-Robert
