the snow is here... we want it up, much much further north (at least in 2 hours driving distance), but despite our best (warmest) wishes and global warming it's here...

featured in the photo: the last foggy remains of this year's first snow and university of massachusetts fine arts center's frontal facade. the center was designed by a futuristic architect kevin roche (winner of pritzker prize, student of le corbusier) in 1970-s. the exterior lighting and landscaping you see in the foto were done by other designers (i will investigate their names) recently though.

the same building can be seen from different angles in an earlier november shot by me and also in a cold/warm light composition by avene.

for those who are interested: a list of current and upcoming performances and exhibitions held at the center. the venue is quite good.

technically: 25 second aperture @ f/11 and 100 ISO. tripod with a remote shutter release was used. postproduction: almost none to speak of: slight curves adjustment for contrast; resizing to TE parameters and unsharp mask.

could I please have this photo printed in large format, framed and also signed? love this psychodelic shot, the construction in the foreground looks like an alien bug breaking free from underground, and I find the dense fog in the background and soft lights create captivating contrast with the gleaming metal in the foreground. I also like the simple, but effective composition, very well seen and presented. should we wish you sweet dreams and fruitful future sleepwalking? :)
best,
K.

Hi Kristaps,
admittedly this kind of shots are not my can of beer, so what! What's good is... good!
Exposure and colors are simply striking, foggy weather... 25 sec. aperture and 100 ISO... that's interesting.
The result is eye-catching, technically speaking new to me, but... I like what I see.
Have a great evening,
Fulvio.

Interesting, artsy shot, Kristaps. The fog has worked favorably to give that eerie mood. I like the color and the composition. Not sure about the tilt though. Best,
Hakan
PS: Sorry, I don't speak Arabic ;-).

Hey Kristaps,

You have that creative eye, imaginatively strange and surreal, wildly colorful, images presented by somebody under the influence of a trance, great unique shot dude!

All the best!

hi kristaps
I definitely like your POV in this shot ... it provides such good atmosphere, But of course this is enough good technically to produce a great effect on my eyes,
nicely done

Hi Kristaps,

today is very calm, so here I am checking your gallery. When I saw the thumnail I thought with myself "what a hell is that?" Now I see this attractive foggy scene. If somebody wants to know what FOG means I would suggest to take a look at your post. You managed the situation very well, I like your play with different lights and once more the lonely atmosphere. Great one!
Regards,
Carlos
