hello Tom,
I really like this elegant photo, the symmetry of the reflections and also placing the horizon close to the center emphasises the calm and peace of the scene. again, the foreground is a nice way to create a natural frame, but what I like most is the thin line of golden light on the distant trees. excellent work, my compliments.

Tom,
there is a true serenity about this shot. My first impression that the trees are to centered, but after looking into a while I have the feeling that this is quite the right thing here. Breaking some rules are sometimes the little twist to make a shot very good.

this series of shots from Vilhaven Island make me sorry I never visited there when I lived in Maine. This is a beautiful shot. Such a wonderful balance and soft, warm light. Hello Tom,

My first thought was that the two trees are too centred but whilst gazing at the shot and absorbing the rest of the composition, I think this might be one of those occasions when the rules should be broken!

A crop would have lost the necessary shape of the f/g rocks, the lovely curves or the two waterways and the line of conifers in the distance!
I just have to say, Great composition, Tom!

I would have rather title "Quartet" because of the lovely reflexion!
Those spruce trees play the part of lighthouses that direct attention allover this peaceful scenery.
I recorded yestedday on the radio a sound clip of seals communicating under water. It gives gooseflesh! It was recorded with an hydrophone at Terre de Baffin by a Radio-Canada crew.
