This little red lobster shack is used to keep rope and other gear dry and out of the sun. Next year all the lobstermen will be required to use a new type of rope that sinks to protect migrating whales so my guess this will be a very busy looking scene come next spring.

That's a pretty scene, Tom.
I love that bright red with all the blue around from the sky and water. Wonderful graphic lines, razor sharp detail, beautiful reflections and that fabulous Maine light. I especially like the way the dock is on a diagonal and the position of the red shack. Man, that's nice. Great shot! Many thanks and have a good week,
Shelly

Hello Tom,
A pretty composition with good point of view. The reflections in the shimmering water are beautifully rendered. Excellent sharpness.

hello tom

another nice vinalhaven scene! love the lone red-lobster shack complemented by the traps on the left side. of course, your very personal, in-boat POV comes into play too. wish the tip of the boat was in this one too... :)

warm regards,
kristaps

Nicely done Tom
The reflection of the shack adds visual interest here. It is also well balanced with the traps on the left.

Hello Tom. excellent strong color in stunning clarity and brilliant reflection. Well captured light and shadow with subjects exposed so well against the beautiful sky. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hi Tom,
A beautiful capture of these docks with the great point of view in diagonal that emphasizes the beautiful building's red well iluminated and also the reflexes that are simply wonderful. The water's texture is attractive seeming a painting. Well done. Regards, Consuelo

Hi Tom,
the illumination is fantastic, I like here also very much the black frames under the bridge.
The wonderful reflections with the very good written sky make it more impressive.
Have a nice month.

hello Tom,
very nice composition here, the strong diagonal is a great way to lead the eye towards the bright red building that stands out so well against the blue sky, I like it a lot. again, smart use of the reflections to double the effect, and I like how you have included the lobster-cages on the left, it creates a very pleasing symmetry with the building on the right. excellent work, my compliments.

with best regards,
Kristine

Hi Tom, A great rippling reflection & deep colours, you always use the light well & again it works well here, lovely composition & a great angled POV, kind regards Wilson.

Hi tom,
Nicer shot of this fishing village. I like the striking red colors of the main feature building and the corresponding reflections. Very well done and TFS. Gerald

Hola Tom,
Estupenda toma de este lugar del puerto con sus nasas y la cabaña roja. Magníficos colores y reflejos. Excelente perspectiva y definición.
Cordialmente
Charo

Tom, nice capture, the colors are wonderful northern spring/summer warm and the pier just about makes it so I can smell the salt air. Your note about the whale protection is interesting, there is a move all up and down the coast to cut them some slack it seems.

Great capture,

Greg

Hello Tom,

What an inviting scene!
The eyes really are drawn immediately to the rich, red of the lobster shack which makes such an interesting focal point. From there, this is the quayside and its reflection to explore, leading to the loster pots. Lastly the eyes retreat, along the reflection to the second group of lobster pots, and the house nestling behind the tall tree.

The quayside makes a strong diagonal across the shot, perfectly balanced at each end, and creating good perspective to the viewer.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Tom, A nice peaceful looking scene unless you're a lobster of course. I like the soft natural looking colours both on land & in the water. The red shack is well complimented by the traps on the far LHS. Interesting note on those ropes.
Well done
Thanks
Santo

Hi Tom,
This is a superb view. The POV, colours and reflections are beautiful. Nice work.
Have a good WE.

Hi Tom,
I really like the framing: the diagonal of the pier creates a greaty frame for the reflection while the lobster traps balance the red building providing harmony. The detail is excellent and the colors very natural.
