[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The popular movie Forrest Gump featured a scene at this lighthouse. Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) was jogging cross country and when he had not yet resolved his delima He did an about face and starting jogging back towards the west coast. The huge dog is a Great Dane who is having a ball romping on the Atlantic Coast.
Marshall Point Lighthouse is located in the tiny fishing village of Port Clyde which from my point of view is a little bit of heaven on earth.

Hi Tom,
Lovely shot, Beautiful colour especially the glow in the sky and it's effect on the building. Nice scene & a nice little note to go with it. I owned a Great Dane a beautiful gentle giant Their size is enough to intimidate most.

Hi Tom,
Indeed that famous spot which also could be seen in the movie. But more impressive here is the light and the way you composed it. The glow of sunlight ont he woodwork is simply wonderful, just as those warm tones in the sky and the hard contrast between water and grass, it all works very good here.

The lighting here is superb ... yes the scene and the atmosphere looks familiar. You've captured the atmosphere well. Nice touch with the dog and person. The rock in the foreground wonderfully anchored the scene ... the wall also leads ones focus towards the lighthouse. Very well composed and very good image quality ... excellent work! tfs

Not only was Tom Hanks there, but also Tom O'Donnell, and I bet Hanks couldnt have made such a good picture. :>

A very fine composition, because it is packed, but also offers a lot of breathing space. The colors of the sunset are gorgeous, with the bright violet, mingling with the blue. The woman and the dog present a very nice detail. So does the little lighthouse in the background. A fine piece of architecture, that puts a twist to the ambient. Really gorgeous scenery, nothing much to add there. Fine work.

Hi Tom,
I am also honored to have my photo right next to yours in the gallery. You know your Northeastern lighting very well and your exposure is perfect for this tricky lighting. You have again made the most of using perspective to your advantage. I love the way that the side of the building on the left recedes a bit and the ramp leading to the lighthouse accentuates the feeling of depth. A gorgeous 3D image with beautiful lighting and composition! (By the way, Forrest Gump was a fabulous movie and is one of my favorites).

nice presentation of the Marshall Point Lighthouse with this stunning and warm light that falls on the side of the image.The dog and the man add life in the scene.The house create a great depth in the capture.I like the colours and the light as the existence of the Tom Hanks in the site.Well done.

hmm... there is something magic about the light and colors in this one. love how the evening sun relfects off the lighthouse and the great dane. and the bright, succulent green is eye captivating too. i wish i was there, about to get into a fishing boat right now... :)) as to forest gump: heh, that was one darned good movie...

I wonder how such a beautiful and inspiring landscape can't give answers to a person like Forrest Gump. It would be more than logical to stop and be struck in awe. A wonderful composition with the house to the left and the openning of the sea with that marvelous colors on the sky. You might consider correcting the slight tilt to the right.
