Photographer’s Note
Burnt Coat Harbor light, also known as Hockamock Head light, sits at the southwestern end of Swan's Island at the entrance to Burnt Coat Harbor. In the mid-70's the light was deactivated and a small skeletal tower replaced it as the active aid to navigation. But that tower wasn't as effective as the original 32 ft. square tower that the Coast Guard eventually reactivated the original tower. It continues to be an active aid to navigation.

Hi Tom
A marvellous blue sky with good sharpness, & framing. Superb warm cold color contrasts between the red roof of the lighthouse complex & blue sky with a good upward pov. Tfs!

Hi Tom
The cloud is really at the right spot to boost the red of the roof and the deep blue sky sets a pleasing contrast to the green-brown grass in the FG, while the wooden bridge at right leads the viewer towards the buildings. Well done
Sorry I must have overused my points, I will come back later
best regards

Hi Tom,
Attractive and tidy architectures with flat walls standing straight on the slope, just look like models, good frame to it with including big part of weeds and sunny sky, full in relaxing feel, good shoot.

Tom,
Your composition is great here using the rails in the lower corner to lead the eye to the tower. The lighting and colors are great as is the photo's sharpness. The red roofs provide nice contrast for the great blue sky.

Hi Tom
A nice POV with the railings leading the eye right to the lighthouse. Having the people for scale is a nice touch too.

Hello Tom,
I almost feel to be crossing the bridge to reach the interesting building in its imposing position! A fine, vertical composition, sharp and detailed.
You have managed the light perfectly on the white walls, despite the strong sunshine.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Tom, another fine light captured by your lens and a fine one at that. The perspective is really nice and all the elements compliment each other and this is a great shot.

I don't think I have seen a square lighthouse before. Your low POV works well giving it prominence. I like the detail of the flag.

Hello Tom,
The point of view adds dynamic lines to the composition!
I also like inclusion of the end of the wooden bridge, great details in the lighthouse and the keeper's quarter...
The fluffy cloud makes a fine background, all well exposed..!

You should create a theme: "beautiful lighthouses of Maine" so that all lighthouses lovers could find their heaven... (:-)
Clean and neat architecture and a clean and neat photo.
The composition is very well balanced giving to land, buildings and sky the right proportions. It conveys a fine sense of harmony and serenity: a place far away from the confusion and ugliness of our modern citys.
A lovely image to share with us,
Donato
