Hi Mark, I also like your composition a lot, and I also made a workshop -
I would disagree with Tom that it is too dark, in my opinion it is mostly the contrast/saturation/noise issue. I also made a workshop, hopefully you like my version as well.

This is a pretty good shot Mark, nice composition. It just needed the contrast and levels adjusting a bit as per Boris's excellent workshop.

Some notes would help though.

Mark,
I like your composition here very much. Without the adjustments the photo has a very different mood than after it has been altered. I really like the original version and Boris' version, both have their merits.
Thanks for a great photo of the wonderful lighthouse.

No your composition is not so dark.
It's ok with my flat screen, but it's not sufficient sharp.
The best WS is Boris one.

I am inclined to agree with DIDI. I don't think it's too dark for the place and the mood, but some sharpening would make it much better. The composition is excellnt.
