Photographer’s Note
This empty pier will be full of tourist looking for toe rings and some spending cash from the ATM come this summer. Today all that is seen is this chocolate lab taking a refreshing dip in the 38F, 3C degree water.

Beautifully done Tom. Very sharp and well exposed.
I have a feeling that that chocolate lab may belong to you. What pray tell are toe rings? I suspect it is something to eat.

Hello Tom,
Nice angle and light to compose the image. The sand is very attractive, a contrast to the white sand found in the southern states. The image evokes a feeling of spring but the temperature of the water is still chilly. Beautiful place. Thanks Tom.

Thats a lovely vantage point to be that has enabled you to capture so much of this place. the colous and textures are superb and the entire composition is very well controlled and presented.

Hi Tom,
the backside of this kind of buildings is always very fascinating. The glamour is gone.
The light and dog are doing fine here.

Hello Tom,
An excellent capture of this wooden with great tones and textures. The pier is well placed in the frame whilst the softer textures of the foreground sand makes a very good feel. The dog sees to be enjoying himself!

Hello Tom,
What a fabulous pier. I can imagine Popeye the Sailor Man in this setting, so well composed and exposed. A temperature of 38°F in late February would suggest a mild day in Maine. I like very much the composition, colors and resolution.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi, Tom,
nice shot of this deserted summer playground. I like the way the pier goes at an angle to the right. Wonderful light and shadow and great detail. It looks like something from a Stephen King novel. :)) Great job! Thanks and have a fine week!

Hi Tom,
A real interesting looking construction you have there. It seems as if there wasn't a true plan for the place but rather bits and pieces were added on as things went a long.Nicely composed with a good POV.Rather the chocolate lab in the water than me!!!

Tom,
we're neighbours today. My post is to your left :-)
Quite a contrast in posts. I like this empty feeling on the pier and the single, almost lost looking chocolate lab in the freezing water. No way that I would step in there.

Salut Tom!
Je crois reconnaître le pier de Old Orchard mais il y a bien longtemps que j'ai mis les pieds là, c'était en 1960, en voyage de noces. Je me promets d'y retourner bientôt.
Emilius

Hello Tom
I've been browsing through your gallery and I've been impressed by its quality. I really like the off season atmosphere that emerges from your composition. The wood textures are really magnified by the light.
Congratulations
