Under The Boardwalk
The Drifters
Oh the sun beats down and melts the tar up on the roof
And your shoes get so hot you wish your tired feet were fire-proof
Under the boardwalk down by the sea
On a blanket with my baby ... is where I'll be
From a park you hear the happy sounds from a carousel
You can almost taste the hotdogs and french fries they sell
Under the boardwalk down by the sea
On a blanket with my baby ... is where I'll be
Under the boardwalk out of the sun
Under the boardwalk we'll be having some fun
Under the boardwalk people walking above
Under the boardwalk we'll be falling in love
Under the board-walk board-walk
Under the boardwalk down by the sea
On a blanket with my baby ... is where I'll be
Under the boardwalk out of the sun
Under the boardwalk we'll be having some fun
Under the boardwalk people walking above
Under the boardwalk we'll be falling in love

Hello Tom,
The pier can be another excellent shot alone. I like the busy columns and its messy view still this feeling continuing at top of it. Excellent depth with diagonal shore and piece of net under blue sky there. A great works with the lyrics. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,
Ertugrul
PS. Drifter is my brother in love's nickname and I'm sending your photo's link to him.

Hi Tom,
Again love the saturation here .. and the mood it gives to the ramshackle feeling pier ... love how that links to the foreground object .. love the sense of motion in the sky .. nice.
take care,
John

I'm back and this is a really great picture to have as my first critique in a long time. Very natural colors and a pretty subject. A nice song to go with it. TFS

The fish net makes for an interesting FG and the pier is well presented with a strong diagonal. Nicely done Tom.

Hi Tom,
That pier is very special. I hope they will preserve it as is with wooden construction and not too organised details. All the footprints look nice on the sand. Piece of old net is an interesting fg detail.

Hi Tom,
Nice compo and a great song. Gosh, I feel old when admitting that I like this song.
Yeah, I like how the poles of the pier seem to be rather randomly placed, but if you look carefully you will see th pattern. There is a slight tilt of the horizon to the left, but it's almost unnoticeable due to the pier. It's funny that you got the feeling the pier is diagonally in the composition, but actually it is rather straight. Nice one!

Dennis

Hello Tom,
Excellent composition of this old wooden pier with its interesting structures. The inclusion of the old nets in the foreground is a very good idea adding another anchor point as well as depth to the scene. Super clarity. My favourite Drifters' track was 'Save The Last Dance For Me'.

Hello,
very nice shot. I love the POV on the boardwalk. The lobster trap adds a nice central focus point.

Hello Tom
I like your point of view. There are so much columns under that pier. The contrast between the vivid blue sky and the brown sand of the beach is amazing. well done!
Best regards

Hi Tom,
I really like your POV of this heavily used pier; it's a real classic!! I love it. I also like the clarity of colr, especially in the water and the golden sand.

Hi Tom,
I loved this song when it came out! My parents hated it when I played it over and over again. It is still a great song. You have created an outstanding and very unusual image with sublime composition and lighting. The crab or fishing net adds a very interesting visual as well as a cultural element to your photo. Marvelous!

Hi, Tom.
A brilliant composition, featuring Hopperesque painting-like textures. Light and colors are fantastic, the pier battered, messy & absolutely lovely, the net in foreground just perfect. The kind of shots my Freddie loves to slightly walk into... maybe a piece of tail, half his snout & one ear, just enough to ruin them, y'know... hehehehe!!!
Have a good day, y'all. And thanks again for taking time to visit "After The Goldrush", much appreciated. See ya soon,
Fulvio & Freddie.
