Photographer’s Note
These two dogs met in a chance encounter on the beach.
Getting to know you.
Getting to know you, getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me.
Getting to know you, putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.
Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me.
Getting to know you, putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.
Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy.
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say
Haven't you noticed
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day by day.
Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy.
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say
Haven't you noticed
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy

Hi Tom,
I think you have a special photo here, because of the excellent framing and colors.
What could be improved, in my opinion,is the contrast and I think you should pay more attention when using "Shadows/Highlights" because I can see a bit of over lightening above the houses.Nothing too serious, just a heads-up from me:)
Thank you,
Nelu

Hello Tom,
Butt sniffing is not for everyone but these guys seem to enjoy it a lot. Technicalities aside, this image is very funny. Is not very often we get to see two dogs in a picture doing what they are suppossed to do :-) The background look pretty, even when the highlights/shadows seem too enhanced. The image is well composed and present us with a nice casual everyday view. Thanks Tom :-)

Hi Tom,
Captured the moment in the photograph.
I agree with Nelu Goia in over use of shadow/highlight in the image.
Here is a way you can rectify the problem
1) duplicate image in a new layer.
2) do your shadow/highlight manipulation with radius set at the same as that of your image. i.e if your photograph is at 300dpi then set radius at 300.
3) change the blending mode of the layer to luminosity.
4) adjust the colors using selective colors/sponge brush at saturate or whatever method you are proficient with.

Hello Tom,
I like the composition here and the added humorous element of the two dogs making their acquaintance as dogs do. I have to agree with others about the over use of shadows and highlights - you can have too much of a good thing you know ;-)

Hello Tom,
Good to see you back!
I presume the dog on the left is wearing 'Angel'. It does have that - 'I must have another smell' effect!
The dogs make an interesring focal point!
And what a gorgeous playground they have behind them! The dof is good, lots of good details and a very well managed composition!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your comments on '500 years old'

An nice shot that incorporates good FG interest. It's too bad the paws are a bit cut off at the bottom but a good grab shot nonetheless.

Hi Tom
ce cliché des chiens qui s'amusent avec ce bâton sur la plage est bien réaliste car c'est une scéene que l'on voit souvent, belle réalisation.

Hi, Tom --
While I agree with Nelu about the lighting, this is a really fun picture and very well composed with its long sweep of beach, the tracks in the sand, the clouds and buildings and pier. Glad you got some good images to bring back and share with us.
Regards,
Jim

Hello Tom
I have been there 4 or 5 times and I recognized that place just by looking the buildings far away. The clouds are beautiful in that vivid blue sky. Great point of view of those two dogs on the beach. They seem to have good time together.
Best regards
Denis!!

Hi, Tom,
this is very funny. Great New England light and nice view looking up the beach toward the houses. I can't believe you'd be out on a Maine beach in February. I love the colors and the shadows in the sand. What an amusing catch, though. Thanks for the smile. Have a good one!!

Hi Tom,
You again captured the happy go lucky and frolicking nature of our good and loyal friends, the dog. My cat is sitting on my lap as I am writing this critique and he has a look of horror and disgust that I am actually praising these "bizarre" creatures. This is a fabulous photo with fantastic depth of field and beautiful lighting. Your sharpness is outstanding also! Superb work!

You always have a different approach to make a photo and I love the two playing friends very close in the forground and leaving plenty of beach in the background ... it gives you an instant feeling of space for them to play. The texture has something soft and almost not real, and I really like that. Very good work indeed. Have a wonderful Monday ... Barbara.

LOL, Tom!
I'm glad that this isn't how we get to know each other at TE. Every species has its own way to do that and our modern times allows this through the sterility of the internet. No smells, but a lot of photographs with good contrast, colors, compositions and texts full of life wisdom.
Really funny and adequate post with an even better text!
