Yet another abandoned chair. : ) I am just so fascinated by this village of abandoned cottages that I can't stop shooting it...and frankly, I don't intend to stop until I am either no longer inspired or the place is razed to the ground. I think the threat of it no longer being there is creating an urgency inside me to shoot the place as much as possible before it's gone....almost like a relative diagnosed with a terminal illness and you want to spend as much time as possible with them before they are gone.
For processing....let's see. In RAW: Converted to B-n-W, increased exposure, decreased contrast, sharpened, applied red (I think) filter effect....converted to JPEG and from there, I changed contrast slightly with curves and burned the curtain. I actually burned it a surprising ammount, and really, it is what makes the photo. Before the burn, the curtain was reaally VERY washed out with light. Oh...I dodged the floor a little too.
P.S. yes, the title is a reference to an Elvis Costello song. |

Hello Jeffrey. Old and abandoned buildings have a special attraction and Charm. One can suspect only, how it in former times was. One thinks about it: which people lived in the house? when and why did they leave the house? life they still? etc.. An interesting motive and topic at the same time. In b&w it is outstanding presented. Worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.
