Eagle view
This is not quite a skyline and that's why I thought that posting this shot that includes an "eagle" would be best when describing this landscape shot as an eagle view. Wikipedia defines a skyline as "the overall or partial view of a silhouette of a city's tall buildings and structures consisting of many skyscrapers in front of the sky in the background".
I might have hundreds of shots showing downtown Hartford from this PoV. I shot it under all sorts of light conditions, in different seasons, during the day or at night, etc. But due to my camera's limited capabilities, many of the shots didn't come out too great. This one, for example, is taken under maximum zoom followed by substantial cropping and the downtown skyline still appears pretty far. The shot was captured from atop the Eastern Farmington Heights.
Enjoy!
PS I don't know for a fact that's an actual eagle but it's at least some sort of hawk and definitely a large bird.

Hello Iulian,
Well composed, the city skyline is a good feature to focus on in this panoramic shot and the bird helps to fill the void in the other half of the frame. Unfortunately, I think that a combination of the high level of zoom and the comparatively harsh lighting conditions have resulted in a large amount of grain. I suggest that you might counteract this with Photoshop despeckle or with the program Neat Image. I like the frame however; it emphasized the length of the scene.

Hello Rujan
A great effort to out this together given the conditions and the equipment..had you acquired the right machine..think the definition of elements would have increased..it s a good ariel shot..but just wondering if you could go higher ?
Think its a another bird..ideally an eagle/hawk would have sailed at this altitude..since this one is flapping its wings..its finding it difficult to control
A pity that you cannot get a skyline shot here..the land rises as seen by the contour in the BG..that will always obstruct..but not to bother..i will wait for you to get to the perfect elevation..i know you really want a good one in your archive ! :)

Hi Iuli,
The graininess mentioned by the comment above does not bother me. However, I would have cropped a little from the top and perhaps right side, as IMHO it has a tad too much sky. The other question that pops to my mind is: why didn'y you consider making it a panoramic view? The length/height ratio asks for a pano... Otherwise, nice shot, it inspires me to try something similar in Ithaca.
Craciun Fericit!
